Examples of our fees are set out below in plain English. If anything is unclear, ask us. We’re an open book and stand behind our commitment to delivering value.

Your first conversation is free

The discovery call costs nothing and commits you to nothing. It's how we both find out whether working together makes sense. If we don't think you need ongoing advice, we'll say so and point you somewhere useful.

Initial advice

For building your financial plan and implementing our recommendations, our standard charge is 1% of your investable assets. If this doesn’t make sense based on your requirements, we may agree to charge you on a fixed fee basis, if this will result in a meaningful discount.

You'll receive a personalised quote in pounds and pence before any work starts, so the first number you see won't be on an invoice.

Ongoing advice

For ongoing planning, including your annual review, and access to us through the year, we charge a percentage based on the value of your portfolio. This starts at 0.95% and tiers down to 0.35%. You’ll receive a personalised quote far in advance of signing on the dotted line.

Most clients choose ongoing advice, but it's a choice, not a condition. You can leave whenever you like; we don't do exit fees or notice periods.

What you get for it

Advice that pays its way. We believe the value of advice should comfortably outweigh what you pay for it, through tax saved, better decisions, mistakes not made and the odd course correction at the right moment. If we didn't believe that about your situation, we'd tell you not to hire us.

Integrity

We do the right thing, especially when it's commercially inconvenient. If the best advice is "don't hire us" that's the advice.

Honesty

You get the truth, including when it's not what you hoped to hear. Comfortable lies are expensive.

Fair value

Our fees are public, plain and tested against a simple standard: advice should leave you better off than if you'd never taken it.

Straightforward

Plain English, always. If you ever need a glossary to read something we've sent you, we've failed, and you should tell us.
